We recognize that we live, work, play, & pray on the Unceded, Traditional Lands of the Cowichan Tribes & Coast Salish People. We commit to the work of reconciliation & relationship-building with our First Nations neighbours.
For more than 110 years the Anglican Parish of St. John the Baptist has been a part of the downtown Duncan community. As we gather to worship & grow spiritually, we seek to serve & participate in the life of the community.
Look on your Church with grace & guide the minds of those who shall choose a Primate for this Church. May we receive a faithful servant who will care for your people & support us in ministry through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Give unto us, oh God, the gift of now. Now is the time to advocate for justice. Now is the time to speak truth to power. Now is the time to fight hatred. Now is the time to stand with the outcast. Now is the time to resist the power of evil. Now is the time to make no peace with oppression. Now is the time to love our neighbours. Now is the time to walk humbly with our God. Now is the time to say no to discord.
Now. Now. Now.
Now is the gift we have been given. Oh God, walk with us in the now. Amen.
